The Simulation and Interactive Learning Centre at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust are state of the art training centres dedicated to delivering clinical skills and high fidelity training for both undergraduate and postgraduate health care practitioners.
The SaIL Centre at St Thomas' Hospital opened in 2010 and has become one of the most active facilities in London, training over 4000 healthcare students and professionals each year. The centre focuses on medical error and human factors / non technical skills to improve patient safety.
The Director, Dr Peter Jaye, is a consultant in Emergency Medicine, has led the development of simulation within our hospitals and the local community. He has facilitated the development of a national reputation for research into simulation at the St Thomas House SaIL Centre, and has also lead the simulation work stream for the South London Health innovation and Education Cluster.
