Building
SIMU is the most up-to-date simulation centre in Central Europe (8 000m2). It is equipped like a real hospital. On the ground floor there is an emergency room with a fully equipped emergency vehicle. A bed lift will take you to the hospital floor full of operation theatres, intensive care units, inpatient care rooms and rooms for teaching via virtual 3D simulations. On the roof there is a heliport. SIMU is equipped with real healthcare devices, simulators, teaching models and trainers.
Teaching system
SIMU provides a whole new idea of teaching General Medicine and Dentistry. SIMU is complementing the existing curricula with a unique aspect of acquiring the individual skills and procedures by means of simulators. Professional skills in healthcare are extremely important, but only in combination with correct communication they form a complex and high-quality doctor for future practice. Coherent scenarios of simulated situations allow you to practise all from dealing with patients up to teamwork.
Team
This five-story student hospital is loaded with healthcare and simulation devices and accompanied by one the largest and best-trained teams in the field. It is under the guidance of this team that students will get right in action and experience what they would formerly have experienced only after several years of studies or in medical practice. Technology
SIMU will offer a wide range of simulators, teaching models, simple trainers as well as simulators of high and low fidelity. The list is really rich, in SIMU you will find, among others, advanced child and adult patient simulators, a geriatric treatment model, a pregnant woman and newborn simulators, an incubator, an artificial respiratory support simulator, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) simulators or an ultrasonic simulator. In SIMU there are also 70 advanced simulators for teaching dentistry.
