Dear Friends and Colleagues
You may be wondering why SESAM have been so silent this year. Well, we've been busy progressing with plans for the Belfast 2015 event which has taken a lot of our focus in the last couple of months. We are pleased to announce that plans are well under way for the event which, this year, will be hosted at the Belfast Waterfront Hall from 24 - 26 June.
Registrations and Abstracts are open, and we would encourage you all to register for the event, and spread the word among your fellow SIM enthusiasts.
The programme is still being worked on by our dedicated team, but we can announce one, very exciting session - Pre-Hospital Emergency Care Scenario. As the meeting is situated directly adjacent to the river Langan, it is planned to use this excellent resource to deliver an interactive and 'hands on' simulation experience. This will be a collaborative pre-hospital rescue and treatment scenario, delivered in conjunction with the RNLI and the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service.
In addition to this, we have already started lining up our keynote speakers, and are very excited to announce that we have current engaged Michael Good, 9th and current Dean of the University of Florida College of Medicine, Professor William McGaghie, Director at the Ralph P Leischner Jr MD Institute for Medical Education, Professor of Medical Education Loyola University Chicago, Stritch School of Medicine, and Pam Kato of the University of Coventry. We are looking forward to another highly successful event, and hope to see many of you there!
In addition to our work on Belfast 2015, I represented SESAM at the 2nd Clinical Simulation Conference 2015, in collaboration with 1st SESAM MENA Conference. The conference was a great success, and I will share a round up of the event with you shortly.
Finally, I wanted to remind you of a couple of ongoing things:
That's all for now, but look out for our regular updates on all things Belfast over the coming months!
