Dear Friends and Colleagues,
A warm welcome to you all. We are excited to share with you all what we have been up to over the past month.
February has already been busy with the members of the EC attending IMSH 2017 in Orlando; this is the annual conference of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH), one of our affiliated societies. During the conference, we had the opportunity for good networking with simulation enthusiasts from all over the world and to promote our society.
We also had meetings with representatives of other simulation societies, foremost with the new President of SSH, Christine Park; President-Elect, Joe Lopreiato and Past President Chad Epps, with whom we discussed about closer collaboration and cooperation between SSH and SESAM.
We also had an EC Face-to-Face meeting in Orlando. The main topic was SESAM Paris 2017.
SESAM 2017.
We are looking forward to welcoming you all to Paris on 14th-16th June, 2017. We are getting ever more excited about SESAM 2017, which will include new insights on simulation, knowledge and simulation experts from all over the world.
SESAM Paris 2017 registration is now live and we hope that you have already grabbed one of our early bird registrations; if you haven’t, not to worry as there are still early bird tickets available;

The abstract submission system is now live. Please share your experiences with the simulation community by sending abstracts to present them in a variety of scientific activities: poster/oral presentations, workshops, roundtables, or expert panels. The deadline for submission is 28th February, 2017.
We are also delighted to invite you to join us for a unique and unforgettable dining experience at SESAM 2017’s Gala Dinner. This will take place at the Eiffel Tower restaurant giving you the chance to enjoy the best views over the city of Paris.

Accreditation
SESAMs accreditation programme offers you the opportunity to demonstrate your institution's quality.
With this programme an institute can be judged and validated by an independent body that is internationally recognised as an opinion leader in the domain of simulation-based education in healthcare. The use of the "Accredited by SESAM" Logo is a quality marker which will allow your institution to stand out and further underline its high quality standards.
In January, the newly formed SESAM Accreditation Group (SAG) met in Frankfurt and some SAG members also met again in Orlando, to establish a common understanding and internal procedures for the accreditation process. Both meetings were very succesful and the first results of the accreditation process for simulation-based educational institutions will be presented at our 2017 Annual Meeting in Paris.

Affiliations
SESAM constantly aims to intensify collaborations with Simulation Societies internationally. We are happy to announce that an agreement with the International Nursing Association for Simulation and Clinical Learning (INACSL) was signed at IMSH 2017.
And we will also be happy to have any other national Simulation Societies apply for affiliation, to help expand the network of collaborating Simulation Societies.
