Rainer Gaupp

I’m Rainer Gaupp and have been SESAM treasurer since 2011. I hold degrees in Business Administration and Business Education and have a strong background in pre-hospital emergency medicine. My research field is the learning processes in post-graduate qualification phases and their effects on patient safety – that’s where the link to simulation is most visible. Since 2004 I have been actively involved in medical education based on patient simulation and founded EduSim, a simulation center focused on in-situ simulation since 2011. My current work includes a blend of experience in emergency medicine, education, research and project management: In addition to my work at EduSim, I have a research position at the WHL Graduate School for Business and Economics and still lead the department of patient safety and quality management at a rural ambulance service in Switzerland.
